Ever since Kayode Abass graciously tagged me in one of his LinkedIn posts on Affiliate Marketing, I have been beseeched by brands and individuals seeking solutions on how to leverage this high-performing but grossly under-utilised marketing channel to scale their business and financial objectives.
For newbies who are yet to catch the drift, Affiliate Marketing is a type of performance-based marketing in which individuals (and organisations) earn percentage commission by driving clicks or sales to a merchant’s website.
eCommerce stores are not strangers to this channel of digital marketing. In Nigeria, most of the top guys in the industry already have established affiliate programs where tens of thousands of affiliates promote the products being sold on these websites.
Brands or merchants unwillingly to incur additional cost to their already lean marketing budget may want to consider Affiliate Marketing as part of their overall marketing strategy. Such organisations have nothing to lose but much to gain as they only share a fraction of their profits with their affiliates only when there is a sales conversion.
